Job Type: Full-Time (Part-Time considered)
Schedule: Weekdays with rotating on-call/weekends as needed (discussed during interview)

Sylva Valley Health & Rehab is hiring a Maintenance Assistant to help keep our building safe, clean, and running smoothly for residents and staff. This is a hands‑on role for someone who is dependable, takes pride in their work, and can handle a variety of repairs and preventative maintenance tasks.

• Assist with preventative maintenance and routine building rounds
• Perform basic repairs (drywall, painting, flooring, doors/locks, fixtures, minor plumbing)
• Help with simple electrical tasks (changing ballasts/bulbs, outlets/switch plates—within scope)
• Support HVAC upkeep (filters, basic troubleshooting; elevate major issues)
• Respond to work orders promptly and communicate status updates
• Maintain grounds as needed (trash removal, basic landscaping support)
• Move furniture/equipment and help set up rooms/areas as needed
• Follow safety standards (PPE, ladders, lockout/tagout as applicable) and infection control
• Support emergency preparedness tasks and participate in on-call rotation (if required)

• Prior maintenance, facilities, construction, or handyman experience preferred
• Ability to use hand/power tools safely
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
• Good communication and customer‑service mindset (you’ll work around residents)
• Ability to lift/move items and work on your feet

• Experience in healthcare, SNF, or regulated environments
• Basic knowledge of life safety expectations (fire doors, exits, alarms—training provided)
