Join Our Team!

We have an immediate need for a full‑time Maintenance Technician to join our team at one of United Group's professionally managed multi‑family housing communities located in Syracuse, NY

• Completes maintenance work orders – as assigned
• Performs necessary maintenance relating to both the exterior and interiors of all buildings of the property assigned
• Maintains inventory of equipment, tools, supplies, and work materials
• Maintains a working knowledge of all utility sources and supply lines
• General maintenance experience includes painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, mowing, plowing, etc.
• Performs all phases of snow removal from all needed areas and maintains all appropriate equipment
• Paints, cleans, completes maintenance items, and all other items required for the completion of the unit under renovation
• Cleans all common areas and is responsible for trash removal

• Assesses and prioritizes all work to be performed on the assigned site
• Completes daily work schedules for routine maintenance duties
• Notifies Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager of all problems and potential issues of concern
• Ensures quality of work duties performed
• Handles emergency situations and communicates all details of the incident to the Property Manager
• Special projects and other responsibilities may be determined

• Will be available for on‑call as necessary
• Maintains a professional and courteous manner with residents, vendors, contractors, and fellow employees
• Actively participates in and follows the safety and health programs

• A minimum of three (3) years driving experience is required if the position involves driving or is considered a driving role

• Must be able to stand/walk for 8 to 10 hours
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, squat, reach, push, and pull
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Exposure to environments with varying air quality, temperature, surfaces, and lighting
• Possible exposure to paints, cleaning agents, chemicals, etc.

• Job Type: Maintenance Technician; $22 - $24 per hour plus Bonus Program
• Work Hours:
  
  Full Time;
  Tuesday – Saturday, 8:00am – 4:30pm. Evening and weekend hours may be required for emergency maintenance

  High School Diploma; applicable work history
• Required Experience:
  
  1–3 years of residential property maintenance preferred. Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and heating systems
• Qualities:
  Demonstrates integrity, strong communication, sales, and negotiation skills; problem solving with residents and challenging situations
