LOCATION:

Merrick Head Start, 175 Hudson Street, Syracuse

REPORTS TO:

Facilities Office Manager

SCHEDULE:

Full-time 2nd shift: 11:00am-7:00pm, 52 weeks per year

STARTING PAY RANGE:

$16.50 to $17.00 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED. Previous custodian or maintenance experience helpful. A current NYS driver license is helpful.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Mop, sweep, and vacuum offices and hallways and common areas as appropriate on a daily basis. Shampoo carpets when needed.

Wash and sanitize toilets, washrooms, and bathroom fixtures daily. Refill soap, toilet tissue, and paper towel dispensers as needed.

Collect and dispose of paper and rubbish daily.

Dust and polish furniture, wash windows, clean blinds and woodwork as needed.

Periodically clean and wash high areas including ceiling light fixtures, room ventilation apparatus, walls, and wastebaskets. Paint walls and/or ceilings on an as needed basis.

Move desks, chairs and other furniture and equipment as directed, to prepare facilities for organizational activities and special events.

Load and unload delivery vehicles, move and stock supplies, and assist with the handling of bulky or heavy items as needed.

Wash outside windows, keep outside property free of trash, cut and rake lawn, and shovel and salt walkways as needed.

Complete daily/monthly logs as required by Maintenance Coordinator or Site Supervisor.
