Description

Our team of Certified Comfort Advisors start by performing a thorough evaluation of a customer's home, focusing primarily on their existing building envelope and heating/cooling systems. They then prescribe the appropriate solutions based on their findings. These items can consist of air sealing and insulation measures, higher efficiency HVAC products, as well as indoor air quality, standby generators and other solutions to make our customers' homes more comfortable and energy efficient.

We are seeking charismatic, self-starting and highly-motivated individuals with the skills and knowledge to effectively engage our customers and turn these opportunities into sold projects. This position will involve professional in-home presentations, preparation of estimates and following through to make sure the project is successful and the customer is completely satisfied. Prior in-home sales experience is beneficial, but not required. Our focus is bringing on high-character applicants, who also have outstanding communication and computer skills - we’ll take care of the rest.

Responsibilities
  • Positively engage customers to gather household energy data, such as type of heating system, number of persons home during day, thermostat setting, and prior year’s energy costs.
  • Perform home evaluations to prepare the best energy saving and comfort minded solutions for customers.
  • Note conditions that contribute to excessive energy loss, such as major air leakage, poorly performing or inadequate insulation, dilapidated windows, and uninsulated pipes.
  • Report potentially unsafe conditions and recommend solutions.

Requirements Required
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a discipline related to construction or building sciences.
  • High School or Trade School degree in a discipline related to construction or building sciences.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, code and building performance.
  • Good understanding of basic 120v residential electrical.
  • Familiar with OSHA safety requirements.
  • Customer service driven with great organizational skills and outstanding follow-through.
  • The ability to work some evenings and Saturdays.
  • Previous weatherization or insulation experience.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs, comfortably lift 50+ pounds repetitively, and must be able to work on your feet for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work in extreme environments, e.g. hot sun, below freezing, crawl spaces, etc.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred
  • College degree in a relevant field.
  • BPI certification or equivalent accreditation/experience.
  • NATE or NORA certifications.
  • Prior in-home sales experience, along with strong mechanical aptitude and/or construction background.
  • Estimating or site auditing experience.
  • OSHA 10 hr.
  • Graduate of weatherization training program.
  • Lead based paint training.
