Maintenance Technician
Are you looking for an opportunity in Facilities where your experience is valued and your work makes a difference? Liberty Resources, a growing Syracuse-based non-profit human services agency, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our dedicated Facilities team.
This position includes use of an agency vehicle, agency phone, and a competitive benefits and PTO package.
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for general upkeep and repair of agency buildings and grounds, performing preventative maintenance, and responding to maintenance requests using mechanical equipment and tools as assigned.

Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with timely upkeep of residential and non-residential properties, including painting, cleaning, repairs, construction, and remodeling, in accordance with agency standards and National Home Builders Association guidelines.
- Perform and document work order requests, including troubleshooting and repairing minor plumbing, mechanical, and electrical issues.
- Support security and safety across agency properties for residents, tenants, coworkers, vendors, and the public.
- Assist with snow removal during winter months to ensure safe access to buildings and grounds.
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to respond to after-hours and weekend emergency maintenance needs.
- Perform general maintenance tasks including interior and exterior cleaning, debris removal, lawn care (mowing and trimming), carpet cleaning, painting, sheetrock repair, woodworking, window repair, and minor electrical and plumbing repairs.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required;
Associate degree in a related field preferred. - Minimum of two (2) years of relevant maintenance experience required.
- Valid NYS driver's license required; reliable transportation necessary. Use of a personal vehicle may be required for regional travel.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to use computer systems for timekeeping and work order processing.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with knowledge of OSHA codes, safety practices, and general electrical and mechanical systems.
