Temporary Janitor
The Temporary Janitor will follow instructions and established procedures in performing all around heavy cleaning work in offices, classrooms, public areas and restrooms.
The ability to read, write and follow instructions is required. May be required to shovel snow in winter.
Responsibilities include sweeping, vacuuming and wet mopping floors; washing walls, light fixtures, blackboards and windows; collecting trash and removing to dumpster; moving furniture; and obtaining and replenishing cleaning supplies, paper, products, etc.
Physical requirements include standing 85% – 90% of the shift, frequent bending, stooping, twisting and bending of head, neck, and torso, full range of arm movement, visual and cognitive capability sufficient to read labels, exposure to latex or rubber, exposure to cleaning solutions, physical strength sufficient to handle professional scrubbing machine, ability to carry up to 30 lbs. on back for 6-8 hours, ability to lift up to 50 pounds to waist height, and ability to push/pull 70 pounds.
Operate a variety of equipment including vacuum cleaner, floor buffer, spray tank, autoscrubbers, etc. Use broom, dust mop, wet mop, etc. Work from stepladders.
