State Fair Worker, NS; Events Staff

Responsibilities

Event Staff positions ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of event facilities on the New York State Fairgrounds.

• Maintain floors
• Wash windows
• Empty trash and recycling bins and ensure proper disposal
• Replenish supplies in restrooms
• Manage operation of building systems (unlock doors, control lighting and HVAC)
• Maintain outdoors (shovel snow, spread ice-melt, use leaf blowers, clear barn stalls)
• Set up and transport furniture and equipment (tables, chairs, picnic benches, barricades)
• Serve as direct point of contact for event promoters and address event‑related needs

• 1st Shift: 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM
• 2nd Shift: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
• 3rd Shift: 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM

Shifts may include weekends. Reserve Bench positions are available on an as‑needed basis and may be sporadic.

No education or experience requirements. Candidates must have the physical ability to perform light to heavy physical labor. Candidates who operate motor vehicles must possess a valid New York State driver’s license appropriate for the type of vehicle.
