Monday - Friday: 8:00 a.m.

- 4:00 p.m.

Working closely with the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities and the Office of Mental Health, we support 27 housing locations and 3 administrative buildings.

About

the Role

We are looking for a proactive employee to use own experience and judgement to oversee the maintenance and safety of all AccessCNY properties.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular walk throughs of Agency, or assigns designee, to monitor maintenance and safety needs of all Agency properties
  • Troubleshoot problems and makes repairs, as needed
  • Schedule outside professionals, as needed
  • Monitor maintenance and safety of exterior of Agency office buildings
  • Maintain current inspections of all systems to be available, as requested
  • Meet with Program Leadership to determine maintenance needs/projects for upcoming year
  • Monitor cleanliness of office building and follow up with any issues noted or reported
  • Meet with Program Leadership to assess vehicle needs/purchases
  • Oversee vehicle repairs and maintenance
  • Provide supervision of designated staff in the Facilities department
  • Orient, train and direct staff regarding specific job duties
  • Provide ongoing direction, support and consistent one-on-one supervision to staff
  • Develop a process to monitor building maintenance for Agency systems such as boiler, roof top units, security system, elevator maintenance, etc. and schedule inspections and repairs, as needed
  • Follow Agency and/or grant funded requirements when obtaining bids
  • Maintain communication with selected vendors for projects and check on status of vendors work as appropriate
  • Ensure sprinkler, fire alarm and fire extinguisher inspections are completed by vendor at all applicable sites, maintain inspections on SharePoint and follow up with any issues noted
  • Monitor and maintain safe fire exits and alarm systems
  • Conduct and maintain documentation for quarterly Court St. office fire drills; follow up with an issues identified and report results to Safety Committee
  • Contact emergency monitoring companies, security system, police and fire departments, as needed
  • Maintain emergency supplies such as generators, batteries, water, gasoline, etc.
  • Serve as safety officer for Agency per OSHA regulations
  • Monitor and maintain current MSDS sheets at office buildings and residential sites
  • Conduct quarterly safety walk throughs of office buildings and report issues/corrections to the Safety Committee
  • Provide recommendations to CEO and COO regarding building improvements
  • Assist with special events such as Participant Carnival, Summer picnic and other projects requested by supervisor
  • Conduct self in a professional manner
  • Observes confidentiality and safeguards all participant and staff related information
  • Follow Agency standards and procedures and ensure department staff follow Agency standards
  • Maintain compliance with applicable rules and regulations
Education / Experience

BOCES/trade school graduate or equivalent practical experience, required. Three years' experience in maintenance or building trades, required. One year of supervisor experience, preferred. Keep current with continuing education, as needed.

Conditions of Employment

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must have valid NYS driver's license in accordance with the Agency Vehicle and Driving policy and transportation necessary to meet program needs. Must have no restrictions for exposure to paint/cleaners. Must be flexible to meet the needs of the Agency, including morning, late and occasional weekend duties. Shares on call with Facilities team and be able to respond to emergencies.
