Position Overview
Scion is pioneering student housing solutions, and the Facilities Technician plays a key role in executing our vision. This position responds to maintenance and repair service requests, performs preventive maintenance, prepares apartments for turnovers, and ensures timely procurement of required supplies. The technician guarantees the safety, functionality, and optimal service of the property's buildings and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain the physical condition of the property in accordance with The Scion Group’s Standard Operating Procedures, OSHA, and industry standards.
- Perform physically demanding work to maintain assets and other property features, minimizing liability.
- Execute maintenance objectives and daily assignments with the Facilities team.
- Complete minor and routine maintenance/repair work in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure all service requests are completed by assisting as needed.
- Document work performed, parts used, supplies consumed, and follow‑up actions; submit daily reports with legible notes, signatures, and dates.
- Promote positive relationships with residents, service staff, contractors, and management through a friendly “people” attitude and professionalism.
- Perform basic appliance repair, carpentry, plumbing/fixture repair, painting, and basic electrical work to make apartments ready for residents on schedule.
- Complete preventive maintenance tasks assigned.
- Clean coils and condensers, lubricate equipment, maintain air filters, and perform minor repair work as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe repair location or maintenance shop during routine cleanup.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or intent to obtain within six months.
- Clear and effective communication skills.
- Knowledge of safety procedures, punctuality, dependability, ability to work under aggressive deadlines, and flexibility to accommodate after‑hours and weekend emergencies.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Demonstrated ability to use basic computer programs and learn additional operations related to the position.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Capacity to stand for at least eight hours per day and lift up to 100 pounds as necessary.
- Job location is the assigned property; periodic travel may be required.
- Serves in an on‑call capacity, except during approved PTO periods.

The hourly rate for this full‑time position ranges from $17.00 to $19.00, with pay determined by role, level, location, and individual experience. Compensation includes base salary, potential bonus, and benefits.
