Position: Traveling Skilled Laborer with CDL

Overview

Primary Function: Sur View Field Services, a subsidiary of Magnolia River, has an exciting new opportunity for a CDL Laborer to join our team. This role requires a combination of CDL driving skills, the operation of specialized equipment, and skilled manual labor. The work is typically related to the inspection, remediation and removal of exposed and elevated metallic natural gas piping located under and or attached to bridges, in ditches and creeks.

Compensation
: 25 to 30 USD per hour depending on experience.

Requirements
:
Class A or B CDL license is required. This position requires extensive travel and you may be away from home for an extended period of time.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of specialized under-bridge equipment.
  • Accurately record DOT Hours of Service (HOS) with the use of an ELD.
  • Trip plan, drive, and operate commercial vehicles (CDL) required.
  • Participate in the inspection, removal or remediation of piping.
  • Ensure and inspect quality of work.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Working knowledge and application of DOT HOS.
  • Proficient with Microsoft suite of programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Basic math skills to assist with measurements and computations.
  • Ability to interpret and follow company and client safety policies.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with contractors, clients, and property owners.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to remain calm, focused and effective in pressure situations.
  • Ability to take and pass Qualification exams (OQ).
  • Ability to travel and work at various job sites throughout the United States for various durations approximately 90% of the year.
Education, Experience, and Certifications
  • High School Diploma/GED is required.
  • Completion of a vocational program is preferred.
  • Must possess a valid Class A or B CDL and clean driving record.
Physical Demands
  • This position performs duties outdoors in changing environments, adverse weather conditions, and rugged job locations.
  • Extensive physical exertion, such as bending and twisting, lifting, climbing, pulling, pushing, and/or carrying equipment or materials as needed.
  • May require standing for long periods of time.
  • Work from varying heights and, at times, over water.
  • Drive company CMVs.
  • Ability to lift items over 50 pounds, with or without the use of mechanical aid.
  • Use of precision or semi-precision tools.
