About YouWe’re looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Bike Mechanic who is passionate about cycling and takes pride in quality workmanship.
You enjoy diagnosing and solving mechanical issues, working with customers, and helping riders keep their bikes performing at their best. About the RoleAs a Bike Mechanic at Tacoma Bike & Ski, you’ll be responsible for assembling, servicing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of bicycles. You’ll work closely with both the sales and service teams to ensure customers receive excellent support and professional service.
This role includes everything from basic tune-ups and flat repairs to complete overhauls, custom builds, and diagnostics on modern bike systems.
This position may be part-time or full-time depending on experience and availability.
Skills & Qualifications- Passion for cycling and the outdoors
- Previous bike mechanic experience preferred
- Strong understanding of bicycle components and repair procedures
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues efficiently
- Experience with modern drive trains, hydraulic brakes, tubeless systems, and suspension preferred
- Familiarity with bike assembly and safety inspections
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented attitude
- Experience with ski equipment or outdoor retail is a bonus but not required
- Perform bike repairs, tune-ups, and maintenance services
- Assemble new bicycles to manufacturer specifications
- Diagnose mechanical and technical issues accurately
- Communicate repair recommendations and timelines to customers
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe service areas
- Assist customers with service-related questions and product recommendations
- Manage repair workflow and prioritize service tasks efficiently
- Support inventory organization for parts and service supplies
- Collaborate with the sales floor and management team on daily operations
- Assist with opening and closing procedures as needed
