Job Description
Milgard Windows and Doors is seeking a Maintenance Team Leader for our Tacoma, Washington location. This role involves leading maintenance teams tasked with executing preventative maintenance and repairs on electric, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other production equipment within a manufacturing environment.
The hourly compensation range is $40.00 – $45.00, depending on experience. There may be overtime work required, depending on business needs.

LEADERS RESPONSIBILITIES:Supervision: Guide and oversee the work of assigned maintenance team members, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Performance Tracking: Monitor maintenance key performance indicators in real-time and report findings to the Maintenance Manager.
Disciplinary Action: Manage minor disciplinary issues within the team, referring more serious matters to the maintenance supervisor for resolution.
Training and Orientation: Assist in planning and preparing training sessions and orientation programs for new maintenance team members, fostering their growth and integration into the team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Incorporate Vision and Values: Integrate MITER’s vision and values into daily activities and behaviors, inspiring and motivating others to uphold the Miter philosophy.
Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all safety policies and procedures, including the use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Work Planning: Collaborate with the maintenance manager and planner to establish Preventative Maintenance (PM) work priorities, secure necessary supplies, and evaluate the skills required for task completion.
Production Equipment Assessment: Evaluate production equipment priorities to organize work assignments effectively.
Team
Collaboration:
Engage with team members to discuss upcoming PM work orders and delegate tasks based on individual skills and experience.Safety and Efficiency: Ensure maintenance and repair tasks are completed safely, effectively, and promptly.
Technical Support: Provide assistance to team members facing technical challenges or advanced issues with their assignments.
Quality Inspection: Inspect the work performed by team members to ensure standards are met.
Resource Auditing: Audit workers’ time, materials, and other resources for inventory management purposes.
Liaison Role: Act as a liaison between production leadership and the maintenance team, collaborating with production leads and supervisors to prioritize business goals.
Problem-Solving: Partner with the maintenance team to address roadblocks or challenges effectively.
Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned to support team operations.
Extensive knowledge of production equipment, such as electric, hydraulic, pneumatic, welding, fabrication, etc.
Must be able to read and follow blueprints and schematics.
Computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) experience required.
Senseof urgency and self-motivation with leadership abilities to generate results.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize tasksand to delegate when appropriate.
Ability toidentifyissues and todeterminerepairs that are needed.
Ability to plan maintenance schedules for production demands.
Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, CMMS(Fii Xis a plus) or related software as needed to complete reports, logs, and inventory.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate’sdegree in engineering or related field is a plus.
- At least five(5) years of maintenance experience required.
- At least two(2) years of experience in a leadership capacity.
- Must be physically able to perform repairs when needed.
- Must be able to lift
