Talladega County Schools Talladega, AL 35161
POSITION: HVAC Maintenance
REPORTS TO:
Director of Operations Maintenance Supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience preferred
- Current support application on file
- Approved background check through Alabama DOE process
- Valid Alabama driver's license
- Such alternatives to the above qualification as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
JOB GOAL:
To help maintain the physical school plant in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all times.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrate aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.
- Read blueprints and trace out/troubleshoot related problems.
- Understand boiler operation
- Demonstrate knowledge and ability to work with various types of HVAC equipment.
- Perform duties that require the ability to lift up to 50-lbs. on a continuous basis.
- Ability to operate a tractor or other large equipment as needed.
- Keep accurate and complete records of maintenance requests as requested.
- Take reasonable precautions to protect students and safeguard all equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Cooperate with other staff members to solve problems and achieve goals.
- Demonstrate concern for safety at all times.
- Maintain confidentiality of school system and student matters.
- Accept no other employment which interferes with the efficient and effective discharge of assigned duties and responsibilities.
- Abide by the standards established by the Talladega County Board of Education for ethical, professional, and personal conduct of employees.
- Uphold and enforce Talladega County Board of Education policy.
- Strive to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Participate in professional development programs and meetings when requested to do so by the supervisor.
- Promote good public relations for the Talladega County School System.
- Other reasonable duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of Central Office support personnel.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Twelve Months (235 days);
Salary to be established by the Board.
