Ground Equipment Mechanic

Description

Inspect and identify defective or broken parts on vehicles and make repairs to gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, fueling, and mechanical systems.

Location: Tampa International Airport, TPA
Pay: $19.00/hour - $24.00/hour

• Inspect and identify defective or broken parts on vehicles and make repairs to gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, fueling and mechanical systems.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual quality control checks on the refueling equipment.
• Maintain records relating to maintenance.
• Drive and operate refueling equipment vehicles.
• Ensure our aircraft services team can operate effectively by providing proper preventative care to equipment and timely repairs to broken equipment.
• Maintain a safe and secure work environment, in accordance with local health, safety, and security policies and procedures.
• Assure a clean and safe working environment.
• Other duties and tasks as required.

• Take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and others affected by their actions or omissions while at work.
• Be fully versed in International Aviation Safety and Security standards and promote them within the organization.
• Co‑operate with their manager/supervisor to comply with any legal requirements.

• Do not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse any equipment provided by the company in the interests of health, safety, or welfare.
• Inform the manager/supervisor of any work situation, equipment or activity that represents a serious or immediate danger to health and safety.
• Report any hazards, near misses, incidents, accidents, or dangerous occurrences to the manager/supervisor, who will then follow the procedures contained in this manual.
• Carry out work in accordance with the information and training provided and any specific workplace health and safety rules or procedures.
• Fully understand the company health and safety policy.
• Attend training courses as may be arranged by the Company.

• 3 to 5 years of mechanical experience
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must pass pre‑employment drug screening.
• Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently.
• Comfortable lifting/moving 70 lbs.
• Available and flexible to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Comfortable working in all weather conditions.
• Pass background check and obtain Customs seal.
• Obtain and maintain all required airport and Customs badges/seals.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED, or one to three months related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
