Job Summary
Parts Clerk receives and processes incoming stock and materials, picks and fills orders from stock, packs and ships orders, or manages, organizes and retrieves stock in the warehouse. This position ensures accuracy and timeliness of all the following job functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
- Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department
- Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code
- Maintains inventory of loaners and rental equipment
- Identifies damage, shortage or surplus
- Fulfills sale, transfer and Inter‑Territorial (ITT) orders
- Prepares shipping documents such as Bill of Lading (BOL), labels and packing slips
- Palletizes, bands and shrink‑wraps items for ship‑outs
- Schedules pickups through commercial carriers, UPS and Fed Ex
- Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line
- Requests quotes, provides BOL and schedules pickups for other DEX branches
- Monitors and assigns serial numbers to Machine Request & Installation Forms (MRF) and tracks back orders
- Loads DEX trucks and stores them in the designated location at the end of the day
- Cleans and organizes the warehouse
- Off‑loads freights from commercial trucks using a forklift and/or pallet jack
- Adheres to all safety precautions and follows all safety requirements to properly complete job tasks
- Performs other job‑related duties as assigned
- Typically reports to:
Parts Manager, Service Manager - Job is not directly responsible for managing other employees (e.g., hiring/termination and pay decisions, performance management)
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office and inventory software (e‑automated system)
- Completes additional tasks and assignments as requested by the Warehouse Supervisor and Manager
- 0–3 years related experience and/or training
- Regular business hours. Some additional hours may be required during peak periods
- Travel requirement: 0%
- Climate‑controlled office environment during normal business hours
- Sitting – Up to 7 hours per day
- Lifting – Up to 0.5 hours per day, up to 50 lbs max.
- Walking – Up to 2 hours per day
- Pushing/Pulling – Up to 0.5 hours per day, up to 50 lbs max.
- Standing – Up to 4 hours per day
- Climbing – Up to 0.5 hours per day
- Bending/Squatting/Stooping – Up to 1 hour per day
- Reaching – Up to 2 hours per day
- Twisting – Up to 1 hour per day
- Data Entry/Typing – Up to 4 hours per day
- Kneeling – Up to 1 hour per day
- Handling in water – Will not apply generally
- Step stool – Will not apply generally
- Excessive heat exposure – Will not apply generally
- Excessive cold exposure – Will not apply generally
- Dust exposure – Will not apply generally
- Humidity exposure – Will not apply generally
- Loud noise exposure – Will not apply generally
- Other physical demands or notes – Employees should not attempt to lift, pull, or push a load exceeding 50 lbs without assistance. Care should always be taken when lifting, punching, or pulling in an awkward position.
