Facilities Maintenance and Custodial Associate

Position Summary

The Facilities Maintenance & Custodial Associate is responsible for the overall cleanliness, maintenance, and safety of the entire Tampa Torah Academy school campus. This role ensures that all areas of the school are consistently clean, well-maintained, and fully operational, creating a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

• Perform thorough daily cleaning of the entire school, including classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, cafeteria, and common areas
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, disinfect, and sanitize all surfaces to maintain high cleanliness standards
• Remove trash and recycling from all areas of the building
• Deep clean assigned areas on a scheduled basis
• Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs throughout the building
• Perform basic plumbing tasks such as fixing leaks, unclogging drains, and maintaining sinks and toilets
• Handle basic electrical work such as replacing light bulbs, fixtures, and addressing minor issues
• Assist with sewer and drainage maintenance as needed
• Maintain outdoor areas including lawn care (mowing, trimming, watering, and general upkeep)
• Set up and break down spaces for school events and activities
• Monitor the facility for safety hazards and report major repair needs promptly
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety and sanitation standards

• Prior experience in custodial, maintenance, or facilities work preferred
• Working knowledge of cleaning procedures, products, and equipment
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and general repair work
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Strong attention to detail and reliability
• Physical ability to lift, bend, stand, and perform manual labor

This position involves both indoor and outdoor work and may require exposure to various weather conditions.
