Job Description
Compensation:
Hourly base pay rate is $15.10 - $22.69/hour. The rate may vary within this range based on location and candidate qualifications. Position may be eligible for commission and incentive programs.
- Inspect refinished body panels for proper color match and acceptable finish texture, bringing any quality issues to management immediately.
- Prepare surface for buffing using proper finish sanding products and technique.
- Restore refinish panel(s) to OEM quality using rotary buffer, correct buffing technique, compounds and polishes defined in SOP.
- Inspect remaining vehicle surfaces for overspray and remove as needed.
- Remove and clean all compound or polish residue from buffed panels completely and inspect for acceptable finish quality.
- Demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling related behaviors.
- Actively participate in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 2 – 5 years of buffing experience or experience in a body shop/repair preferred.
- Valid respirator Fit Test.
- Paint Training Certification as defined in HAPS 6H regulation.
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
- Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear; frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb.
- Ability to lift 1–15 pounds.
- Manual dexterity, repetitive motion tasks.
- Vision abilities required: close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Frequent exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals. Moderate noise level.
Drug TestingClear a pre‑employment drug test. This role does not currently require a marijuana test. Drugs illegal under federal or state law are prohibited during work hours, on company property and in company vehicles.
