POSITION SUMMARYThe Site Leader is responsible for managing a maintenance station and performing equipment maintenance procedures on a fleet of Airport Ground Support Equipment (GSE). This role includes mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems work on various GSE types such as tow tractors, belt loaders, pushback tractors, air start units, cargo loaders, deicers, hydraulic lifts, tugs, and aircraft refueling trucks. The Site Leader also communicates closely with customers to report equipment status and coordinate work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Oversee a team of technicians, ensuring performance meets safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
- Manage the work schedule based on equipment availability and customer operational needs.
- Maintain a clean work area with tool accountability and an appropriate shop environment.
- Document work in the ERP system, manage purchasing and inventory of spare parts.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, HVAC, and electrical discrepancies on GSE systems.
- Inspect, repair, rebuild, and overhaul GSE components.
- Manage customer relationships to ensure work follows site safety and workflow guidelines.
- Communicate equipment status and repairs to customers.
- Provide detailed updates to senior management and manage changes in scope of work.
- Create and analyze site activity performance indicators and recommend corrective actions.
- Manage punctual projects related to the maintenance station.
- Perform other assignments as designated by the Regional Manager.
- Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred; a technical degree is a strong plus.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot heavy equipment.
- Shop floor experience and ability to manage work schedules across all shifts.
- Strong leadership skills, with aptitude also considered.
- Excellent communication skills and judgment, able to keep management informed and know when to escalate.
- Accessibility via phone for emergencies.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with 5S (or equivalent) for floor organization.
- ERP experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to read and speak English.
- Ability to work both as a team and independently.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- No travel restrictions.
- Med/Heavy Truck Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification preferred.
