We’re looking for a hands‑on Maintenance Director who works with urgency, pays close attention to detail, and takes pride in getting things done right—the first time, on time, and within budget whenever possible.
About the RoleThis is not a desk job. This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who knows when to pick up the tools themselves and when to call in the right support.
You’ll be responsible for the overall maintenance and housekeeping operations of the community—ensuring the environment is safe, clean, comfortable, and welcoming every single day.
You’ll follow proven processes, but you’ll also be expected to think ahead, solve problems, and take initiative when situations call for it.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, full-time, with on‑call responsibilities for emergencies.
What You’ll Be Responsible For- Oversee all maintenance and housekeeping functions
- Perform hands‑on work including electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repairs
- Complete apartment turnovers with speed, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Maintain property, grounds, and building systems
- Execute preventative maintenance to avoid costly issues
Supervise housekeeping staff: hiring, scheduling, training, and evaluations - Coordinate with other departments to keep the community running smoothly
- Ensure work is completed safely, correctly, and on time
- Stay mindful of costs and look for ways to complete projects efficiently
- Be on‑call for property emergencies
- Work with a strong sense of urgency to get things done
- Have high attention to detail and expect work to be done perfectly
- Take pride in finishing projects on time and under budget
- Know when to handle a task yourself and when to call in outside help
- Are proactive and capable of figuring things out without waiting to be told
- Follow established processes but improve them once you understand them
- Lead by example and aren’t afraid to get your hands dirty
- Strong knowledge of building systems: mechanical, electrical, and plumbing
- Minimum 3 years of property or facilities experience (healthcare preferred)
- HVAC certification preferred but not required
- Strong communication and customer service skills
