Job Description

Hours: 2nd Shift Monday-Friday 6pm-2:30am

Pay: $17.00 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Clean and sanitize processing area and equipment following USDA guidelines during the evening shift
  • Disassemble, handle, and reassemble equipment to maintain cleanliness and food safety
  • Ensure cleaning chemical concentrations, times, temperatures, and flows meet safety and cleaning standards
  • Follow all sanitation, plant, area‑specific, and equipment‐specific safe practices and GMP standards
  • Safely and efficiently operate Clean In Place and Clean Out of Place systems
  • Complete all documentation, communication and record‑keeping requirements accurately and on time
  • Inspect sanitation work and follow up to ensure operating and sanitation standards are met for a safe and effective start of plant processing
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Ideal Candidate
  • Organized, self‑motivated, and able to work as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment
  • Understanding and ability to execute Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) consistently
  • Previous experience in food manufacturing sanitation preferred
Physical Demands
  • Walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, climbing, carrying, repetitive wiping, scrubbing, sweeping, mopping, kneeling, crouching/squatting as required
  • Work often at heights on ladders and step‑lifts up to 30 feet for cleaning ceiling tiles, pipes, and equipment tops
  • Use of mops, buckets, rags, scrub brushes, hoses, power washers, scrapers, air hoses, pallet jack, etc.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred; not required
  • Cleaning or chemical sanitation experience/training or equivalent
  • Ability to organize and prioritize in a multitasking environment
  • Knowledge of Chemical & Lock‑Out Tag‑Out procedures, once trained
  • Effective communication with peers, subordinates, and leaders
  • Drive continuous improvement of support activities
  • Problem‑solving and proactive handling of work‑related issues
  • Basic math skills and following simple multi‑step instructions
Work Environment

The work environment is a plant setting with variable temperatures and noise levels. Exposure to manufacturing equipment movement, wet/slippery floors, and possible travel may occur.
