Custodian

Job Summary

In conjunction with our mission and goals, the Custodian supports the Campus President and maintains the facility to provide a safe, clean, and presentable environment for the public and employees.

The starting pay range is $16.90‑$17.80 per hour.

• Cleans and stocks restrooms.
• Empties trash containers.
• Vacuum and cleans carpets.
• Ensures the cleanliness of classrooms, labs, offices, reception area, and student and employee lounges.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

• Education – High school diploma, GED, or relevant experience preferred.
• Other Qualifications – Thorough knowledge of cleaning supplies and equipment; sufficient English language skills for instructions.
• Language Skills – Ability to read, write, and present simple information.
• Mathematical Skills – Ability to perform basic arithmetic and calculate rates, ratios, and percentages.
• Reasoning Ability – Ability to apply common sense to follow detailed instructions and solve simple problems.

The job requires standing, walking, reaching, lifting up to 10 pounds regularly, up to 25 pounds frequently, and occasionally up to 50 pounds or more. Tasks include climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.

The work environment may involve wet or humid conditions; fumes, airborne particles, toxic chemicals; exposure to moving mechanical parts, precarious places, extreme temperatures; and moderate noise levels.
