Under the direction of the Pastor or other assigned manager, responsible for performing janitorial services and light maintenance in the parish.

• Support the Church’s spiritual and pastoral mission.
• Abide by Catholic principles and moral standards in professional and private life.
• Develop a cleaning schedule to ensure the parish or school is clean and maintained in an orderly fashion.
• Perform general custodial duties including cleaning and light maintenance of facilities.
• Assist grounds person on an “as needed” basis.
• Perform scheduled monthly, semi‑annual, or annual janitorial duties (floor waxing, painting, window washing, carpet cleaning, etc.) as directed.
• Provide set‑up and cleaning of facilities for all activities as directed.
• Maintain a supply of cleaning supplies and equipment and properly account for materials and equipment.
• Maintain security of buildings, equipment, and tools.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requires coordination and manual dexterity; normal mental and visual ability; ability to lift as required in a normal maintenance environment.

Walking, sitting, standing, stooping, reaching, talking, handling, hearing, carrying, and climbing ladders.

• Working knowledge of and strong commitment to the mission of the Diocese and Catholic Church; in full communion with the Catholic Church.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent human relations and interpersonal skills.
• Exercise courtesy to fellow employees, parishioners, and the public.
• Self‑starter; well organized; able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and work with urgency.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment; punctual; able to travel locally as required; weekend and overtime work may be required.
• Working familiarity with computer technology.
• Successfully pass a background, criminal history, and credit history check.
• Valid Arizona driver’s license.
• Read directions and label safety warnings; safety conscious.
• Knowledge, skills, and experience in handling janitorial equipment and maintenance tools.
• Professional bearing; clean and neat personal appearance.

• High school graduate or equivalent education.
• 1 year’s experience in a commercial or private maintenance, janitorial or similar position.

Bi‑Lingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
