Job Summary

The Crew Lead - DAS will act as the on‑site coordinator and crew supervisor for a variety of field service functions. The Crew Lead will participate in and supervise installation of antennas, repeaters, head‑end equipment, and other DAS devices as well as complete sweep, PIM and fiber testing. The Crew Lead’s task will be to ensure job completion according to company and customer quality and safety requirements while maintaining the efficiency of the staff assigned to the project.

Responsibilities
  • Run major project crews, ensuring effective performance and providing necessary training.
  • Assume responsibility for adherence to company and customer safety and quality guidelines, holding weekly safety meetings and initiating performance‑related communications as needed.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager/Project Lead to ensure productivity, job completion, and compliance with project budget.
  • Fully complete all IES Communications, LLC. and project paperwork accurately and on time, including timesheets, material transfers, work orders, and change orders.
  • Commission and optimize a variety of DAS and signal booster equipment for public safety installations, utilizing manufacturer procedures and field equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and power meters.
  • Conduct pre‑ and post‑install RF signal readings per fire code requirements using a spectrum analyzer and/or two‑way radios.
  • Perform cable sweep testing (VSWR, RL, DTF, PIM) using appropriate test equipment.
  • Serve as the main on‑site customer contact for questions and concerns, attending facility and construction meetings when required.
  • Demonstrate a detailed level of technical knowledge; troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise.
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications

  • Act as the liaison for interface with customer representative(s).
  • Possess proven problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills, as well as effective reading, writing, and oral presentation abilities.
  • Able to work at heights, off a ladder, and in confined spaces; lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.
  • Regularly stand and walk large jobsites.
  • Able to see and distinguish colors, read small print, hear and recognize audible signals such as dial tones.
  • Capable of traveling within the branch territory and/or regional territory as needed.
  • Maintain regular attendance.
Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements
  • Minimum of three (3) years of training experience or a related role.
  • Preferable: five (5) years of project management experience in telecommunications, electrical, or a related technical or construction field.
  • Preferable: BICSI certified trainer.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of job costing, job planning, quality management, safety training, and contract administration.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project).
  • Meet company minimum driving standards.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of instructional design and adult learning theory practice preferred.
  • Ability to effectively use basic hand tools including screwdriver, torpedo level, tape measure, snips, pliers, crescent wrench, sewing needle, cable shears, flush cutting pliers, multiphoto‑meter, and rubber mallet.
  • Highly knowledgeable of materials, methods, and tools involved in commercial construction.
  • Ability to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
  • Good knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and their application.
  • Maintain technical knowledge through educational workshops and review of publications.
  • Working knowledge of construction processes such as bid process, project management, delegation, and finance.
