About the roleA Packsize Machine Technician will install, configure and maintain Packsize equipment solutions onsite at a designated customer’s facilities. They must be a creative problem solver with the ability to identify, analyze, maintain and repair complex mechanical equipment and answer difficult customer questions about product features. A Machine Technician will perform start-up testing and deliver customer training on product capabilities, features and general maintenance of the product.

They will build and maintain a strong, trust‑based customer relationship with their assigned customer(s) and will work closely with other supporting Packsize team members to provide exceptional customer service.

• Schedule tasks at a customer’s job sites.
• Troubleshoot issues quickly and effectively using technical drawings and documentation.
• Work cross‑functionally with R&D, Software and Quality Engineering teams.
• Perform routine maintenance and emergency services as they arise.
• Analyze customer key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify new or ongoing machine performance issues and resolve them.
• Continuously learn the customer’s operational processes, packaging designs and technical specifications.
• Install Packsize solutions and train others to use and maintain them.
• Handle basic clerical and administrative duties such as reading and responding to emails, preparing expense reports, arranging travel, writing detailed technical reports.
• Communicate and collaborate with Packsize and customer personnel so they understand procedure.
• Adhere to all safety requirements related to exposed moving parts and electricity.
• Maintain excellent work ethic and time‑management skills.
• Operate the machine: clear jams, load Z-fold, change labels, change bander paper and add glue.

• Proficiency with hand tools.
• Mechanical platform knowledge.
• Ability to work independently with little or no direct supervision.
• Basic Microsoft (Excel, Word) or Google Suite (Sheets, Docs) experience (helpful, not required).
• Associate’s degree, vocational training or equivalent experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related area preferred.

To successfully perform the essential functions of this job, you will be required to communicate with others to exchange information, work within a production facility, warehouse or manufacturing environment, move yourself in different positions, work in tight and confined spaces, convey yourself great distances, stand for prolonged periods, work in noisy environments, move objects up to 50lb, ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, steps, stools, and perform tasks that require bending, stretching, pushing, pulling, carrying and reaching.

All work is performed at customer’s facilities. Available on‑call. Overnight travel may be required for initial and periodic training. Ability to travel by vehicle or airplane domestically.

The salary range for this role is $33–$36
