Job Summary
The Crew Lead - Security Systems will serve as the on-site coordinator and crew lead supervisor for the program and installation of Security Systems—including Card Access, CCTV, CATV, and Intrusion systems—according to manufacturer requirements and engineered drawings. The role ensures job completion in alignment with company and customer quality and safety requirements while maintaining staff efficiency.
Job Duties and Responsibilities- Consistently supervise technicians, providing training and performance support.
- Ensure adherence to company and customer safety and quality guidelines; conduct weekly safety meetings.
- Initiate performance-related communications and, when necessary, escalations to the Security Systems Project Manager.
- Coordinate with the SS Project Manager to guarantee productivity, job completion, and budget compliance.
- Accurately and promptly complete all project paperwork (timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers, etc.).
- Act as the main on-site customer contact for questions and concerns; attend facility and construction meetings as required.
- Perform tasks with a detailed understanding of card access, CCTV, CATV, and intrusion systems; troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Complete additional responsibilities as assigned.
- Self‑motivated, positive, professional, and committed to project process improvement.
- Promote company culture and mission to employees, vendors, clients, and partners.
- Serve as a liaison with customer representatives.
- Demonstrate proven problem‑solving, critical thinking, and effective communication skills.
- Stand and walk regularly on large job sites; work at heights, off ladders, and in confined spaces.
- Lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.
- Distinguish colors, read small print, and recognize audible signals such as dial tones.
- Travel within the branch or regional territory as required.
- Basic hand tools: screwdriver (all sizes), drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips (with belt sheath), adjustable and needle‑nose pliers, lamp hammer, cable stripper, insulated crimping tool, flashlight, gloves.
- Multimeter, butt‑set, toner/wand, coax compression and/or hex crimp tool.
- High School diploma or GED equivalency.
- Minimum of five (5) years of security systems installation experience.
- Minimum of six (6) months supervisory or managerial experience.
- Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, specifications, reporting, and quality requirements.
- Knowledge of universal communications color codes.
- Proficiency with the listed tools.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project).
- Meet company minimum driving standards.
- Minimum years of experience: 2–4.
