Salary Range: $17.79 – $20.38 Hourly

Schedule:

Selected candidate may be placed on either shift.

  • AM Shift: 5:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., may include weekends
  • PM Shift: 12:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Monday – Friday

DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this position is to perform a full range of custodial duties related to the care, cleaning, and minor maintenance of assigned buildings and facilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Clean, sanitize and deodorize jail cells and restroom facilities and fixtures, including sinks, urinals and toilets; clean and sanitize showers as assigned; maintain fixtures and replenish supplies in restrooms.
  • Sweep, vacuum, mop, wax, strip, and polish floors using a variety of chemicals, cleansers and equipment; vacuum and shampoo carpets and upholstered furniture.
  • Dust and polish furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment; wash windows, mirrors, walls and ceilings.
  • Empty, clean and sanitize ashtrays and waste receptacles.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Some experience in cleaning and maintaining building interiors is desirable.
  • Requires formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.
  • A valid driver’s license preferred.
  • Must pass a police background examination.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Criminal history background investigation
  • Post offer/pre‑employment drug screen; employees in safety‑sensitive job classifications are prohibited from all marijuana usage whether medical or recreational.
  • Post offer/pre‑employment physical.
  • Police background check.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

This position is FLSA Non‑Exempt and employees are eligible for overtime compensation and/or compensatory time.
