Custodian

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned.

• Perform janitorial duties.
• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule.
• Perform hazardous waste responsibilities, including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping, receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, and packaging of special and hazardous waste.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
• Stop at risk behavior of others and self.
• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees.
• Maintain clean work area.
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules.
• Take direction and respond to supervision.
• Communicate with lead, supervisor, co‑workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner.
• Fill in during staff shortage.
• Support shift lead in completing punch‑list items.
• Use proper personal protective equipment.
• Present a professional appearance and conduct.
• Understand customer service and satisfaction.
• Understand reporting systems and environmental reporting.
• Perform repetitive tasks.

No specific education requirement; 3‑6 months training or experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

May be required to have a valid driver’s license. All safety and task training certifications must be completed. Forklift certification may be required.

• Bilingual a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willingness to share with team.
• Knowledge of the upkeep and care of cleaning equipment.
• Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

• Requires the ability to sit and talk or listen frequently; must be able to lift and move up to 35 pounds.
• Work environment includes routine exposure to cleaning chemicals, equipment vibration, and irregular hours.

• Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday: 6:00 am – 2:30 pm.
• Saturday and Sunday: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm.
• Hourly rate: $15.00 – $16.00.
