Position: Maintenance Supervisor (12hr Day Shift)

Maintenance Supervisor – Amcor

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising the daily operations of the Maintenance Department and its employees including the repair and upkeep of all production and plant equipment and the repair and maintenance of buildings and grounds.

Responsibilities
  • Promote and ensure safe work habits, including compliance with and improvement of company and departmental safety procedures and goals.
  • Supervise and establish safety procedures for maintenance work, including lock-out/tag-out, confined spaces, and arc-flash programs that meet EHS, OSHA, NEC, NFPA, and company standards.
  • Assist in scheduling the repair and improvement of production and non-production equipment by maintenance technicians and contractors to minimize both planned and unplanned outages.
  • Supervise department personnel, including performance evaluations, recognition, discipline, training, payroll approval, and selection.
  • Recommend employee training needs and work to remedy training deficiencies by initiating appropriate plans of action.
  • Work with all applicable parties to ensure adequate utility resources, environmental and hazardous waste removal, and security, fire, and emergency systems.
  • Recommend and/or implement preventative maintenance programs and improvement modifications for plant equipment and facilities.
  • Maintain timely records and reports for all projects and equipment within the plant.
  • Compile operational and personnel records to include time and production records, inventory data, repair and maintenance statistics, and test results to aid in data-driven decisions.
  • Oversee and direct maintenance technician work to provide a high level of performance.
  • Recommend, organize, and manage daily maintenance procedures for repair and overhaul of all plant equipment.
  • Provide technical advice on equipment modifications and estimate timelines for maintenance projects.
  • Ensure necessary materials, parts, tools, equipment, and manpower are available to complete maintenance assignments.
  • Assist with layout, installation, movement/dismantling of plant equipment, and scope development/completion of plant miscellaneous projects.
  • Direct contracted service providers as needed.
  • Adhere to Amcor values and actively contribute to a high-performance culture.
Qualifications
  • Leadership, coaching, directing, and developing employees to optimize a high-performance culture.
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple functions simultaneously.
  • Effective communication and conflict-resolution skills in stressful situations.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; experience with ERP systems preferred.
  • Strong mathematical skills and blueprint reading knowledge.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical crafts and procedures, including millwright trade, pipe fitting, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, sheet metal, and machinist skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of electricity, including AC and DC, electronics, power distribution, and circuitry protection.
  • Bachelor of Engineering degree is preferred.
  • Five to seven years of in-plant mechanical or electrical maintenance experience preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
