The Cook will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and handling food. S/he will be responsible for training and overseeing kitchen helpers and uphold all Provincial Health Standards as well as the company Standards to safely deliver the highest quality food possible
An excellent cook must be able to follow instructions in cooking and delivering well-prepared meals. S/he must be deft in moving around the kitchen and apt in multi-tasking. Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is also important. The candidate must be willing to migrate and work in Canada.
Summary of Responsibilities- Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities
- Inspect kitchens and food service areas;
- Clean kitchen and work areas;
- Able to cook, prepare or assemble required ingredients for preparing standard receipts. These may include a portion of beef, pork, fish, and poultry.
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment;
- Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
- Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
- Recruit and hire staff
- May prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions
- Estimate food requirements and may estimate food and labor costs
- Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
- Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs

- Thorough experience with hot and cold food preparation.
- Good working knowledge of accepted sanitation standards and health codes.
- Ability to use slicers, mixers, grinders, food processors, etc.
- Able to handle work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to handle raw food correctly to eliminate any possibility of foodborne illness.
- Ensure equipment is cleaned and sanitized properly, maintain inventory and record of food supplies
