• Perform moderately complex custodial work including cleaning, dusting, disinfecting, sanitizing to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
• Operate floor maintenance equipment such as strippers, buffers, vacuums, and extractors.
• Request and restock supplies as necessary.
• Assist in conducting inspections of buildings and equipment for cleanliness and needed repairs.
• Assist in performing minor building and equipment repairs and installations.
• Accountable for maintaining assigned custodial equipment in good working order.
• Maintain outside areas around the hospital, clear trash and debris.
• Work under general supervision with moderate latitude for initiative and independent judgment.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including participation in disaster response or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation; such participation may require an alternate shift pattern or location.

• Attend work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule, extended shift, and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy.
• Perform custodial functions timely and with high quality, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and cleaning windows and light fixtures.
• Ensure proper sanitization and disinfection in accordance with training received.
• Clean and maintain floors, restrooms, nurses' station, and other areas in accordance with established procedures and safety measures.
• Maintain and clean the interior and exterior of assigned buildings, empty trash, report needed repairs, and replenish supplies as needed.
• Coach other custodians as needed.
• Inspect assigned buildings and areas for cleanliness, completed work, and needed minor repairs; perform minor maintenance.
• Complete documentation in an accurate and timely manner, protect confidential information, and maintain inventory and equipment records.
• Help patients maintain optimal health and provide a safe environment for themselves, persons served, and others.
