Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Overview
Position Introduction/Key Duties Cimarron is seeking a Clean Line Technician to support our partnership with Firefly Aerospace at their rocket production facility in Briggs, TX.
Through this partnership, Cimarron supplies skilled technical talent in support of Firefly Aerospace’s advanced launch and space systems. Firefly designs and builds small- to medium-lift launch vehicles, lunar landers, and orbital vehicles for government and commercial missions from low Earth orbit to the Moon and beyond. Together, our teams leverage advanced carbon composite structures, patented propulsion technologies, and common components across platforms to move fast, improve reliability, and deliver payloads at a lower cost.
Responsibilities- Clean and prepare critical spacecraft components using approved chemicals, solvents, and mechanical methods such as abrasive blasting and ultrasonic cleaning to remove contaminants and meet strict cleanliness requirements.
- Use hand tools, spray guns, ultrasonic tanks, and chemical baths to clean complex aerospace components, including flight and engine hardware.
- Strictly follow work instructions, technical drawings, and specifications for cleaning processes, including passivation and weld cleaning.
- Document all cleaning activities, results, and any issues encountered in accordance with program and quality requirements.
- Comply with safety requirements by properly using personal protective equipment (PPE) and following OSHA and site-specific safety guidelines when handling hazardous materials and equipment.
- Verify that cleaned parts meet required cleanliness standards prior to assembly, testing, or repair.
- Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens or permanent residents are eligible for consideration at this time.
- 5 or more years of experience working in the aerospace industry.
- Cleanroom experience.
- Relevant experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or other high-technology environments.
- Familiarity with cleaning agents, solvents, ultrasonic cleaning processes, abrasive blasting, and basic hand tools.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure compliance with stringent cleanliness and quality requirements.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to work effectively with tools, equipment, and fixtures.
- Strong safety awareness, including proper chemical handling and adherence to safety protocols.
- Ability to use basic measuring devices, personal protective equipment, and approved chemicals to meet specifications.
- Knowledge and use of specialized tools and equipment required to perform assigned job-related tasks.
- Ability to meet physical requirements and pass any medical examinations associated with performing assigned duties.
- Basic understanding of different materials and part conditions.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
