Keep building in a clean and orderly condition. Perform heavy cleaning duties, such as operating motor-driven cleaning equipment, mopping floors, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. Duties may include, performing routine maintenance activities, notifying management of need for repairs and additions and cleaning snow or debris from sidewalk.

• Reports to the maintenance supervisor.
• Sweep, mop, scrub and vacuum floors of buildings, using cleaning solutions, tools and equipment.
• Clean or polish walls, ceilings, windows, plant equipment and building fixtures, using steam cleaning equipment, scrapers, brooms and variety of hand and power tools.
• Apply waxes or sealers to wood or concrete floors.
• Gather and empty trash.
• Dust furniture, walls, machines and equipment.
• Service and repair cleaning and maintenance equipment and machinery.
• Clean building interiors damaged by fire, smoke or water, using commercial cleaning equipment.
• Perform such other tasks as may be assigned from time to time by supervisor.

• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repair and maintenance.
• Knowledge of the composition, structure, and properties of substance and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo. This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques and disposal methods.
• Knowledge of the principles and processes for providing customer and personal services including needs assessment techniques, quality service standards, alternative delivery systems and customer satisfaction evaluation techniques.
• Knowledge of the standard principles, methods, practices, techniques, tools, and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of building structures, machinery, electrical, plumbing and mechanical equipment fixtures.
• Able to perform routine maintenance and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
• Skill to repair machines or systems using the needed tools.
• Able to determine what is causing an operating error and deciding what to do about it.
• Able to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
• Controlling operations of equipment or systems.
• Mathematics:
  Ability to perform simple arithmetic for measuring and other calculations.
• Language & Communication:
  Ability to read, write, speak and understand English or Spanish, and communicate effectively with others.
• Ability to understand, provide and follow written and verbal direction.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to exercise independent and sound judgment.
• Cultural awareness of and sensitivity to Kickapoo traditions, religious beliefs and way of life.

This position does not carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or graduation equivalent diploma (GED) and at least one-year experience in the residential construction/building field. Work experience will be considered in lieu of education.

Preferred Qualifications: Previous work-related experience is preferred.

Must be able to meet background screening requirements. Requires successful completion of a background investigation that includes a fingerprint based criminal history search.
