General Description
Under the direction of the Custodial Manager, this position performs highly complex, senior-level custodial work related to Indian Lodge. Responsibilities include daily cleaning and housekeeping duties, laundry, grounds maintenance, preparation for seasonal holidays and special events, inventory management, and assistance with facilities maintenance. The role works with limited supervision and uses initiative and independent judgment while complying with all Agency, Division, and Branch rules, regulations, and procedures.
Qualifications- High School Graduate or GED.
- One year of experience in general cleaning, housekeeping or custodial work.
- Valid state driver’s license (obtainable within 30 days of employment).
- Knowledge of general facility, building, and grounds cleaning techniques.
- Knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used for care and cleaning of buildings, appliances, and furnishings.
- Knowledge of inventory control principles and methods.
- Basic mathematics skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer service skills in a courteous and professional manner.
- Skill in the use of custodial materials, chemicals, and sanitizing procedures.
- Skill in operation, use, and maintenance of custodial equipment and building maintenance tools.
- Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and as part of a team.
- Ability to investigate and perform cleaning as necessary.
- Ability to complete required forms and documents.
- Ability to assist other housekeeping staff and perform duties in their absence.
- Ability to perform light maintenance duties and manual labor up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to conduct work activities in accordance with TPWD safety program.
- Work in a public hotel-type facility requiring a 40-hour work week with flexible scheduling.
- Schedule may include hours outside of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and days off other than Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
- Work outdoors, including occasional adverse weather.
- Manual labor involving lifting up to 50 lbs.
- May be required to operate a State vehicle and travel up to 5% with possible overnight stays.
- Must conform to TPWD dress, grooming, work rules, and safety procedures, and work in a non-smoking environment.
