Location: Wink

The Water Transfer Operator is responsible for assisting in the safe deployment and installation of layflat hose equipment, as well as fueling equipment as needed. This individual promotes healthy, safe, and environmental practices and ensures each facility operates at maximum efficiency in compliance with regulatory requirements. The Water Transfer Operator provides support for service regarding water Reuse operations for our Permian Basin assets.

This position is based in Wink, Texas, and reports directly to the Source and Reuse Supervisor.

This job description is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties and responsibilities of the position. Incumbents will be expected to follow other job‑related duties outside of their normal responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor based on business needs.

Responsibilities
  • Reports daily flow meter readings and pond levels.
  • Monitors and inspects active water transfer lines and water wells daily, visiting multiple sites as assigned.
  • Maintains trailers and weight management to be in compliance with local laws.
  • Communicates effectively with supervisors, providing timely updates and relevant information as needed.
  • Demonstrates the ability and willingness to adhere to a rotating schedule consisting of 12 consecutive working days followed by 2 scheduled days off.
  • Manages time accordingly to maintain multiple sites and meet deadlines.
  • Partners with 3rd party companies, managing projects to meet deadlines.
  • Handles pressure and rate testing water transfer hose as needed.
  • Inspects, maintains, and repairs layflat hose; performs spill containment and remediation in coordination with PWS teams to ensure safe, environmentally compliant operations.
  • Safely and proficiently operates skid steers, trailers, and a variety of hand and power tools required for water transfer activities.
  • Supports Reuse Water Operations as a proactive team member, participating in cross‑training and performing a variety of duties across PWS operational functions.
  • Maintains and monitors equipment to ensure proper working condition, mitigating potential problems or safety issues and reports to appropriate personnel for repair(s).
  • Submits own timesheets timely and accurately for approval and adheres to schedule as agreed upon on the date of hire, and adjusted work schedules thereafter based on company needs.
  • Complies with all Company policies and procedures; adheres and is compliant to safety and environmental guidelines.
  • Participates in other assigned duties and projects based on business needs.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent such as a GED.
  • Oil and gas industry experience.
  • Familiar with standard concepts and procedures as it relates to the role and industry.
  • Strong organization, time‑management, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate respectfully and professionally across all levels of staff, customers, and vendors.
  • Understanding of tank gauging (thieving, color cut, etc.).
  • Sound knowledge of hand and power tools used in field operations.
  • Intermediate knowledge of oilfield facility operations and automation.
  • Able to be on call as needed.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be deemed insurable by the Company’s insurance provider throughout employment to be able to drive a Company vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3 years in the oil and gas industry.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Must be able to stand, bend, walk, kneel, climb stairs and lift over 50 lbs for continuous hours.
  • Able to perform manual labor such as shoveling, cleaning, lifting, walking up and down stairs, minor maintenance on pumps and filters, power washing facility, among other.
  • Will work 90% of the time outdoors.
  • May be exposed to H2S and other industry related chemicals.
  • May be subject to working in low‑lit areas from time to time.
  • Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials.
  • May be exposed to loud noises, occupational hazards, and/or other outdoor elements.
  • May encounter wildlife.
  • Must be able to use hands to handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, and fine manipulation.
