Building Maintenance Tech

Responsibilities

• Complete general maintenance requests submitted by guests and employees.
• Perform work order tasks and preventive maintenance on spaces and equipment.
• Interact with guests or employees to ensure maintenance requests are completed successfully.
• Identify problems, initiate work orders, accomplish assigned work orders, and perform necessary repairs relating to expertise.
• Conduct duty rounds using daily checklists, report on, and correct noted problems.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient workspace.
• Maintain inventory of tools in use and ensure correct usage of the maintenance request system.
• Work safely, including proper use of PPE and following safety protocols.
• Assist with maintenance requests for other trades as needed.

• One year of maintenance experience in hotels, home repair, hospitals, office repair, or apartment complex repairs.
• Skilled at using hand, power, and diagnostic tools.
• Experience with minor wallpaper and vinyl repair.
• Experience repairing and painting drywall, wood, metal, and other surfaces using rollers and brushes.
• Experience repairing tile and grout, refinishing woodwork that requires staining, varnishing, and lacquering.
• Basic plumbing repairs.
• Basic electrical repairs.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics (preferred).
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Texas driver’s license with a good driving record (preferred).

Pay rate: $19.85 per hour.
