MARCAP Electronics Technician, Maintenance II

Job Summary

Raytheon contract position for operation, monitoring and maintenance of ROTHR/MARCAP receiver site equipment at 401 County Rd, Escondito Ranch, Freer, TX. The role requires performing system level operations, preventative and intermediate maintenance on phased array antennas, RF and digital hardware, and supporting engineering teams during testing and data collection. This contract position has a fixed hourly rate of $37.69 with an additional Health & Welfare benefit of $6.00 per hour.

• Perform system level operation and monitoring of ROTHR/MARCAP receiver site equipment.
• Conduct organizational, preventative and intermediate level maintenance on receiver site and communications equipment – phased array antennas, RF hardware, digital hardware, microprocessors, minicomputers, PC farms, and peripheral equipment.
• Interpret manufacturer manuals and other technical documents to solve complex problems and plan work sequences.
• Coordinate with engineering and other professionals on testing, data collection, and system enhancements.
• Create experimental or prototype models, conduct tests or experiments, redesign systems as required, record and evaluate data, and report findings.
• Participate in technical/engineering training and apply guidance from supervisors on compliance with accepted practices.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or a graduate qualification in electronic or electrical engineering technology with at least two years of curriculum, or military technical school with a minimum of six months.
• Experience using test equipment and systematic procedures for troubleshooting, overhaul, fault isolation, and repair of major electronic systems involving receiver and transmitter functions.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle driving record (required for company vehicle use).
• Eligibility for a U.S. Government DoD Secret clearance (U.S. citizenship required).

• At least one year of technician experience in assembly, overhaul, repair, modification, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of communications, radar, or digital electronics systems of comparable complexity to ROTHR.
• Previous or current security clearance.
