This role will be responsible for the monitoring and operation of process equipment used for the safe and reliable operation of the Markham, TX storage facility. The position reports to a shift supervisor and works collaboratively with operations, maintenance, and technical personnel.

A Day in the Life
  • Execute operations and maintenance duties in accordance with company policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Maintain personal and co‑worker safety and comply with all federal and state environmental regulations.
  • Develop and retain process knowledge of the facility and adapt to process changes to detect unusual conditions; troubleshoot and resolve issues using this knowledge.
  • Communicate accurately and timely with coworkers.
  • Demonstrate personal leadership through task planning, incident investigations, and performance related to safety, environment, quality, reliability, and cost of operation.
  • Own the facility to ensure product transportation and storage results are satisfied and maintain the site in proper operating condition.
  • Record data readings, use plant data control systems, and continuously observe process conditions to maintain good control.
  • Place systems in a safe condition for maintenance work, support maintenance activities, and communicate status to the facility supervisor and coworkers.
  • Perform minor maintenance on equipment and enter SAP work notifications for equipment requiring maintenance.
  • Provide ideas, raise concerns, and collaborate with pipeline management, engineering, and maintenance to improve performance.
  • Participate on committees for investigations, policy and procedure development, and workplace improvement.
  • Evaluate facility operating status and troubleshoot process and equipment to ensure pipeline integrity and timely product transportation to customers, suppliers, and clients.
You Bring This Value
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1–5 years of chemical plant experience.
  • Experience or expertise in Process Safety, Operating Discipline, desktop/laptop computing, communications, basic flow and pressure design, and mechanical skills.
  • Willingness to:
    • Work 12‑hour rotating shifts and provide overtime coverage.
    • Respond to facility call‑outs.
    • Work with hazardous and/or flammable chemicals with proper safety precautions, training, and equipment.
    • Work around and interact with heavy equipment.
    • Work outside year‑round under various weather conditions.
    • Stand and walk for extended periods.
    • Perform frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
    • Enter tight or confined spaces.
    • Climb heights above 25 feet by stairs and vertical ladders.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with diverse cross‑functional groups.
    • Possess a working level knowledge of work permitting, process safety, and operating discipline.
    • Read and interpret common P&IDs, equipment drawings, and schematics.
    • Complete tasks wearing required personal protective equipment, including fire protective clothing, goggles, face shields, gloves, steel‑toe boots, hearing protection, respirators, etc.
    • Lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Pass pre‑placement testing, including a physical exam, drug screening, background check, and physical abilities assessment.
    • Mandatory participation in the Terminal Fire Response Team.
