Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Groundskeeper
Summary/Objective
The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of the exterior grounds and selected interior/common areas at our Dripping Springs steel fabrication facility. This role supports operational efficiency by ensuring work areas, yards, and access routes remain clean, organized, and free of hazards. The Groundskeeper works closely with shop leadership and safety personnel to maintain a safe and functional environment that meets company standards and OSHA requirements.
EssentialDuties (other duties may be assigned) Grounds Maintenance
- Maintain facility grounds including mowing, trimming, edging, and general landscaping.
- Remove debris, scrap metal, and other materials from yard and walkways.
- Maintain gravel lots, access roads, and staging areas by raking, leveling, or filling potholes as needed.
- Clear standing water and/or snow/ice when required.
- Assist with routine upkeep of exterior building surfaces, fences, gates, and signage.
- Empty exterior trash receptacles and manage waste disposal areas.
- Support housekeeping activities in high‑traffic shop areas (sweeping, removing scrap, etc.) when needed.
- Perform minor repairs to site fixtures (signposts, yard markers, etc.).
- Identify and remove hazards such as loose scrap, sharp materials, or obstructed walkways.
- Maintain clear access to fire lanes, emergency exits, and equipment storage areas.
- Follow all facility safety protocols, use proper PPE, and comply with OSHA and environmental regulations.
- Report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or facility concerns promptly.
- Safely operate basic grounds equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, blowers, and pressure washers.
- Operate light mobile equipment (e.g., forklift) once trained and certified; assist with material movement as needed.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on assigned equipment.

- Adaptability in a fast‑paced industrial environment.
- Previous groundskeeping, landscaping, or facility maintenance experience preferred; industrial or construction environment experience is a plus.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and navigate an active steel fabrication yard safely.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools and small equipment.
- OSHA‑10 Certification.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Forklift or skid‑steer certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
The work environment characteristics described here reflect those an employee typically encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This position operates in a non‑climate‑controlled fabrication/production shop, which may include routine exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures. The noise level in the work environment can be high, requiring the regular use of hearing protection and adherence to company PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) policies.

PPE required (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, steel‑toe boots; additional PPE as tasks require).
Physical Demands- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 75 lbs. occasionally.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, and reaching.
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions (heat, cold, rain) and around loud equipment.
- Ability to maintain visual acuity and depth perception necessary for safe equipment operation, with or without reasonable accommodations. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
This is a full‑time on‑site/in‑office position. Hours of work may change based upon the needs of the business.
