Custodian

Job Overview

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned.

• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule
• Perform hazardous waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, and packaging of special and hazardous waste
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
• Stop at risk behavior of others and self
• Work as part of a team with other employees
• Maintain a clean work area and present a professional appearance and conduct
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules
• Take direction and respond to supervision
• Communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, co‑workers, managers, and customers
• Fill in during staff shortages and support shift lead in completing punch‑list items
• Use proper personal protective equipment and understand customer service and satisfaction

Education and/or

Experience:

No specific education requirement; 3–6 months of training or experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid driver’s license may be required; completion of all safety and task training certifications is required; forklift certification may be required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Bilingual a plus
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willingness to share with team
• Knowledge of the upkeep and care of cleaning equipment
• Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe, efficient use

$17.00 – $18.00 per hour

Mon – Fri, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
