This is a unique job opportunity to advance your skills in a position that rarely opens due to longevity of past hires!

Maintenance workers will be expected to perform a certain amount of upkeep, both to keep our building looking ship-shape and to maintain a safe environment for residents and employees alike.

The preferred candidate will offer an ambitious and motivated sense of initiative when it comes to building upkeep, and a willingness to learn new skills. Specifically, we are looking for someone who will troubleshoot HVAC, mechanical, and plumbing systems.

This is a full time position, hours determined between you and supervisor

Competitive wage scale based on experience Min $21.75 Max $28.38

Increased, union bargained wage will be effective October 2026!

A brief summary of this position is as follows:

Job Specific Functions/Responsibilities

• Maintain major equipment within Oregon Veterans Home.
• Trouble shoot HVAC, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
• Trouble shoot and repair oxygen concentrators, wheelchairs, and other medical equipment.
• Trouble shoot minor electrical problems and make repairs.
• Repair damaged sheetrock.
• Patch and paint needed areas in the facility.
• Replace floor tiles, moldings, and carpet squares.
• Assist the maintenance, and assistant maintenance directors.
• All other duties as assigned by the maintenance or assistant directors.
