Facilities Specialist – The Woodlands, TX 77380 – Full Time – Salary-Exempt – Up to 25% travel – Day shift (Mon-Fri 8:00A.M. – 5:00P.M.)
Position SummaryThe Facilities Specialist is responsible for maintaining and overseeing the organization’s buildings, grounds, and equipment to ensure a safe, functional, and well‑maintained work environment. This role manages facility operations, coordinates preventive maintenance, and ensures compliance with all applicable safety regulations and building standards. Key responsibilities include inspecting and maintaining building systems such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and landscaping; coordinating routine maintenance and emergency repairs;
and managing relationships with contractors and service providers, including negotiating service agreements. The Facilities Specialist also plans and oversees facility renovations, upgrades, and improvement projects.
- Arrange and qualify cleaning and maintenance tasks to service providers.
- Monitor safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas (offices, conference rooms, parking lots, outdoor recreation spaces).
- Schedule routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors.
- Ensure proper security measures, including collaboration with security system vendors.
- Maintain day‑to‑day operations of facilities, delegating or completing maintenance orders.
- Create reports on maintenance, repairs, safety and other occurrences for supervisors and other relevant staff, coordinating and delegating to local personnel.
- Prepare facilities for changing weather conditions.
- Collaborate with building owners and upper management on budgeting for facilities needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
- Successfully passes all applicable general pre‑employment testing (background check, drug screening, fit tests, aptitude or competency assessments).
- Daily overtime required; in‑person, predictable attendance required in The Woodlands, TX.
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License required; 3‑year U.S. driving history and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) in accordance with company policy.
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of on‑the‑job training from previous, related roles in a related industry.
- Mechanical skills and knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, and other building systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Great time management, organization, and prioritization abilities.
- Keen attention to detail and efficient problem‑solving skills.
Occasional sitting; climbing, balancing, and stooping; frequent lifting up to 10pounds and occasional lifting or moving up to 25pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Work hours may include early morning, late evenings, and weekends, depending on business necessity.
