What you will do in this role
The Poly Logistics Day Technician/Coordinator is responsible for the successful operation of Poly Site Logistics. This role involves completing assigned MTL tasks and performing various responsibilities related to plant operations and maintenance.
ResponsibilitiesDuties, projects, tasks, and activities you would be responsible for in this role but not limited to
- Track partial car counts and create plan for reductions.
- Update, Generate, and Develop Operating Modules for Hopper Truck Loaders, Hopper Car Wash, and Hopper Truck Inspectors.
- Help Activity Schedulers schedule partial loads, overloads, and unloads.
- Audit Wash facilities to ensure cleanliness of Hopper cars and removal of water.
- Coaches and trains wash rack employees
- Tagging and prep equipment for maintenance.
- Provide direction as needed on railcar moves.
- Write logbook notes and communicate task and permit statuses.
- Housekeeping responsibilities for designated areas.
- Complete various check sheets and inspections.
- Maintain and create operating procedures
- Performs tasks assigned to operations as per Master Task List field checks, equipment preparation, etc
- Uses trouble shooting skills to resolve process related deviations and problems.
- Perform process equipment troubleshooting, minor repairs, improvements and preventative maintenance, utilizing appropriate processes and disciplines.
Required education, experience and abilities that are needed for this role (must haves)
- High School diploma or equivalent AND one of the following are required:
- Two-year Ptech degree or equivalent degree.
- 3 years or more of relevant military training/experience.
- 5 years relevant Chemical & Manufacturing Process Operator experience or 5 years of Logistics experience.
- Certified to operate a forklift (or willing and able to obtain).
- Essentials training and certification.
- RTMS qualifications and My Learning certifications.
- A1 electrical permit certified (or willing and able to obtain).Must possess a TWIC card or be eligible to obtain a TWIC card. - A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Specific abilities and expertise required to perform tasks effectively in this role
- Microsoft Office & DWS Proficiency – Demonstrates strong ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Explorer, and DWS to create, modify, and manage documents and communications effectively.
- Work Process Tools Expertise – Skilled in utilizing key operational tools such as OPD, RTMS, MOC systems, Work Request entry, EH&S logging, Event & Action tools, and WebEDMS to support safe and efficient plant operations.
- Verbal Communication – Effectively communicates in English through phone and radio to coordinate tasks, relay information, and support operational activities.
- Written Communication – Able to clearly document tasks, issues, and updates through e-logbook entries, email communication, and procedure creation or modification.
- Technical Documentation & Procedure Management – Capable of developing, updating, and maintaining operational procedures and checklists to ensure accuracy and consistency in work practices.
