Position Summary
The Janitor is responsible for maintaining the exceptional cleanliness, organization, and safety of the high-end, luxury home furniture upholstery factory.
Key Responsibilities- Factory Cleaning:
Perform detailed cleaning and sanitization of production floors, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming, with a focus on dust and debris removal to protect high-quality materials. - Common Area Maintenance:
Disinfect, clean, and restock restrooms, break rooms, and kitchens, including shared refrigerators and microwaves weekly. - Waste Management:
Collect and dispose of trash, recycling, and manufacturing waste in designated containers, ensuring proper handling and safety protocols. - Office & Administrative Spaces:
Vacuum all office areas weekly, disinfect restrooms, break rooms, microwaves, and refrigerators, empty trash, wipe surfaces, and maintain the front office lobby daily. - Safety & Facility Support:
Monitor and report maintenance needs, safety hazards, or needed repairs to management, uphold and enforce safety protocols.
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Proven experience in a custodial or janitorial role, preferably in manufacturing or luxury environments.
- Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, disposal methods, and safety procedures.
- Completed OSHA training:
Bloodborne Pathogen, Hazard Communication, SDS, and PPE. Recertification can be provided by Tomlinson Directional LLC. - Must pass criminal background check and drug testing.
- Attention to detail and thoroughness.
- Strong work ethic, friendly attitude, teamwork, self‑motivation.
- Follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Perform other duties assigned by management.
- Reports to the Plant Manager.
- Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, and lifting (up to 50 pounds occasionally).
- Noise.
- Hazards, including moving mechanical parts and exposure to chemicals.
- Atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
