Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Change air conditioner/heater filters as scheduled/needed.
- Perform routine maintenance of air conditioners/heaters.
- Use a pressure washer as requested.
- Use electrical tools and equipment when appropriate, including volt meter, drills, saws.
- Check the oxygen level of concentrators as requested or needed.
- Perform routine maintenance of oxygen concentrators as scheduled/needed.
- Perform water temperature tests as requested/scheduled.
- Perform routine laundry equipment maintenance as scheduled/needed.
- Test fire alarm systems as scheduled/needed.
- Test fire safety equipment as scheduled/needed.
- Perform generator testing and routine maintenance as scheduled/needed.
- Perform unscheduled maintenance tasks as requested.
- Assist with major cleaning projects as requested/needed.
- Build various structures for patients, e.g., benches, flower boxes, and other carpentry work requiring various materials (wood, plaster, cement, nails, etc.).
- Complete general maintenance, plumbing repair, replace and unclog hair traps, unplug toilets, repair washers and dryers, replace broken pipes/water lines, etc.
- Maintain and replace electrical outlets and light bulbs, and rewire or replace wiring in equipment used by the center.
- Install and check batteries of smoke alarms.
- Assist in fire drills.
- Check extinguishers and assist fire marshal with inspection.
- Remove furniture and clothing from rooms no longer occupied, or assist in moving patients' belongings such as furniture.
- Paint interior or exterior of the center as requested/needed; also may include wallpapering.
- Assist in construction of any additions onto the center.
- Maintain the grounds of the center to keep them free of garbage; may include mowing lawn, trimming hedges, weeding, etc.
- Promote the image and reputation of the System by exhibiting servant leadership and providing direct and open lines of communication.
- Contribute to the work of committees, work groups, project management, and other collaborative efforts of the System.
- Perform other duties as necessary to ensure the success of the System.
- Communicates well with other associates, patients, family members, and visitors, providing a warm and friendly greeting and an approachable attitude.
- Responds to expressed concerns while displaying a helpful, caring demeanor, answering questions when appropriate in a professional manner.
- A minimum of an H.S. diploma or its equivalent preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram format.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
