Roving Maintenance Engineer - JLL
Roving Maintenance Engineer supports the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of central utility plant systems across a multi-site portfolio. This role is responsible for performing inspections, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of critical systems. The Rover position travels between assigned buildings to support site-based teams while also executing independent tasks to maintain operational continuity and system performance.

What your day-to-day will look like:- Promote and maintain a safe working environment by adhering to all corporate, client, and regulatory safety procedures across all assigned facilities
- Conduct routine and preventive equipment rounds and inspections, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting of operating conditions
- Operate, monitor, and maintain central plant systems, including but not limited to:
- Chillers and cooling towers
- Boilers and hydronic systems
- Compressed air systems
- Reverse osmosis (R.O.) and water treatment systems
- Perform troubleshooting and repair of electrical, mechanical, and control system issues across multiple buildings
- Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs to optimize equipment reliability and lifecycle performance
- Respond to service calls, alarms, and emergency situations, providing timely resolution or escalation
- Travel between multiple buildings on a scheduled or as-needed basis to support operational demands
- Collaborate with site teams, vendors, and management to ensure consistent service delivery across the portfolio
- Maintain compliance with JLL and client-specific policies, procedures, and standards
- Ensure all work areas, mechanical rooms, and equipment are maintained in a clean, organized, and audit-ready condition
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of experience working with central plant or HVAC systems
- Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation; ability to travel regularly between sites
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Willingness to respond to short-notice assignments and emergency coverage needs
- Foundational mechanical knowledge, including the ability to use common hand tools, interpret equipment conditions, and perform routine maintenance tasks safely and effectively
- Basic computer proficiency, including Building Automation Systems (e.g., Maximo/BAS) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Associate degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, or related technical field
- Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance practices
- Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, including troubleshooting and basic diagnostics
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a multi-site environment
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain positive relationships across teams
- OSHA safety training or industry certifications (e.g., EPA Universal, Boiler Operator License)
- Ability to lift and move up to 49 lbs
- Capability to stand, walk, climb, and perform physical tasks for extended shifts (up to 12 hours)
- Ability to work in diverse environments, including mechanical rooms, rooftops, and outdoor conditions
- Self-motivated, reliable, and capable of working with minimal supervision
- Ability to quickly adapt to different facility types and operating conditions
- Commitment to continuous improvement, energy efficiency, and operational excellence
- Must successfully pass background check and drug/alcohol screening
Onsite - Thousand Oaks, CA
Work Shift:Monday to Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm + Overtime based on business needs.
Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Willingness to respond to short-notice assignments and emergency coverage needs
Salary/ Comp:$68640 - $79,040.00 | $33 - $38 per hour + OT Payment.
