A healthcare center is seeking a dependable and hands-on Maintenance Assistant to join our team. This position plays an important role in maintaining a safe, clean, comfortable, and functional environment for our residents, staff, and visitors.
The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in their work, has general maintenance and repair skills, and can effectively prioritize tasks in a healthcare environment.
Maintenance AssistantKey Responsibilities
Assist with general building and grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, planting, and other landscaping tasks
Maintain and repair interior and exterior door locks, windows, screens, and light fixtures
Clean and replace air filters and assist with routine HVAC maintenance in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and facility policies
Perform minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repair work
Replace ceiling tiles, repair walls, and complete other general maintenance projects as needed
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and complete preventive maintenance tasks
Assist with building safety activities, including fire drills, safety inspections, and life safety compliance
Help ensure fire extinguishers and other life safety equipment are properly maintained and compliant
Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
Properly maintain tools, equipment, and supplies
Follow all safety procedures and facility policies
Perform other maintenance duties as assigned
High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous experience in building maintenance, facilities, construction, or a related field preferred
Basic carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical skills preferred
Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently
Professional communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to interact respectfully with residents, staff, visitors, and vendors
Ability to safely operate common maintenance tools and equipment
Ability to bend, lift, climb, stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods
