The New Hampshire Veterans Home has a part-time, 1st shift vacancy for a Building Cleaning Worker I-II.
Proposed schedule includes: 6:00am - 2:30pm shifts. Some weekends (additional $2.00/hour). Some holidays. Make a difference in a Veteran’s life. SummaryBCW I:
To perform independent cleaning, custodial or janitorial duties associated with the care, cleaning, and maintenance of multiple buildings/facilities for the State of New Hampshire Veterans Home; may include assignment to multiple units, areas, locations.
BCW II:
To serve as a team or crew lead, and/or shift point person and to independently provide a full range of cleaning, custodial or janitorial duties associated with the care, cleaning, and maintenance of one or multiple state facilities, buildings, grounds, or institutions; may include assignment to multiple units, areas, locations, or districts.

- Knowledge of the principles and processes for providing customer and personal services
- Knowledge of quality standards for health, environment and safety
- Ability to read and write and to prepare both written and oral reports
- Ability to listen and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
- Ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong
- Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the agency appointing authority

For promotion from the 37-2010 Building Cleaning Workers-1 job title to the 37-2010 Building Cleaning Workers-2 job title as a Building Cleaning Worker, the eligibility requirements in Personnel Rule 303.08 Broad Group Level Advancement must be satisfied, as well as the following criteria:
- Must have completed at least six months (full-time) or one year (part-time) of employment as a Building Cleaning Workers I
- Must receive a satisfactory performance evaluation
- Must be approved for promotion at the discretion of agency management to satisfy organizational/business needs
- Must receive a recommendation for promotion to Building Cleaning Workers II by the immediate supervisor
