You Know Your Way Around a Car. Now You Need a Shop Where You Can Keep Growing.
Monday-Friday. Great benefits. Training. Weekly bonus potential. A team that actually wants to help you get better.
Tinley Auto Repair is looking for an Automotive Technician with hands-on shop experience who is ready for their next opportunity.
We are not looking for a master technician.
We are not looking for someone brand new to the industry.
We're looking for that technician in the middle—the person who can confidently handle maintenance and general repair work on their own, has started tackling more involved repairs, and wants to keep building their skills.
Maybe you're doing brakes, steering and suspension, batteries, maintenance services, tires, inspections, and other general repairs today—but you want to become capable of much more.
That's the person we want to meet.
What You'll Be Doing- Oil changes and scheduled maintenance.
- Brakes.
- Steering and suspension repairs.
- Batteries and starting/charging system repairs.
- Fluid services.
- Tire services.
- Belts, hoses, filters, bulbs, and other general repairs.
- Vehicle inspections.
- Digital Vehicle Health Assessments with photos and documentation.
- Basic diagnostic work based on your current skill level.
- More advanced repairs as your abilities grow.
We aren't expecting you to know how to do everything on day one.
We are expecting you to know your way around a repair shop, work independently on the jobs within your skill level, recognize when you need help, and want to learn the things you don't know yet.
You Might Be a Great Fit If...You've Been Working In Automotive Repair And You're Thinking
"I know I can become a really good technician if someone gives me the opportunity, training, and support to get there."
You Should- Have previous hands‑on automotive repair experience.
- Be comfortable performing maintenance and general mechanical repairs.
- Be able to complete quality vehicle inspections.
- Understand basic shop procedures and repair processes.
- Take pride in doing things correctly.
- Be dependable and show up ready to work.
- Be willing to ask questions instead of guessing.
- Accept coaching and feedback.
- Want to continue learning.
- Work well with the rest of the shop.
- Respect your coworkers, our customers, and their vehicles.
- Have a valid driver's license and good driving record.
ASE certifications are great, but your attitude, ability, work ethic, and willingness to grow matter more to us than letters on a certificate.
