Overview
The Lt. Joseph P. Kennedy Jr. School is a therapeutic day school in Tinley Park, Illinois. We are Illinois State Board of Education certified and serve intellectually and developmentally delayed students ages three until twenty-one. Our curriculum is provided twelve months a year, with one week breaks between the trimesters.
ResponsibilitiesDesigns and develops appropriate instructional plans that are based on the IEP and curriculum
- Designs and develops appropriate instructional plans that are based on the IEP and curriculum
- Uses diagnostic information to develop and revise instructional plans and approaches
- Is knowledgeable about sensory strategies in relation to behavior management
- Ensures the safety, security and well-being of student
- Maintains accurate records to document student performances
- Engages students in learning through discussion and student participation
- Provides positive feedback and effective reinforcement procedure to support learning
- Is knowledgeable about normal development and the impact of the disability on normal development
- Attends and actively participates in all scheduled and non-scheduled in-service programs
- Follows all agency policies and procedures relative to reporting requirements, transportation of children, licensing requirements, professional conduct, and mission of the Agency
- Remain alert and awake at all times
- Maintains a highly professional appearance at all times consistent with modeling standards for the children and participation in the video streaming process
- Other duties as assigned
- Master's Level Degree in Occupational Therapy and state licensure required
- At least 2 years of experience in Occupational Therapy
- Valid driver’s license
- Pass a criminal background check and physical/drug test
- Pass a MVR background check
