District 146 is seeking a professional Illinois educator as a Substitute Teacher. In most cases, the classroom teacher will leave instructions and/or lesson plans for the day and these are expected to be followed. This position is limited to 1199 hours per school year, 7.5 hours per day which includes a half‑hour unpaid lunch.
Qualifications and Experience- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License preferred; either it or a Substitute License acceptable.
- Experience working in a classroom setting.
- Demonstrated effective classroom and time management.
- Understanding of the elements of Middle School and elementary school education.
- Passion for teaching children and helping them achieve their best.
- Ability to work with staff, students and parents from a wide range of backgrounds.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
This is an at‑will position and an offer of employment is not a contract for continued employment from year to year. The employment relationship can be discontinued at any time.
- Substitute Teacher $150.00 a day.
- Long Term Daily Rate – assignments for 20 or more days (FMLA or LOA).
- $225.00/day with a PEL.
- $175.00/day with a SUB license.
